Recently, I watched Simmba at AMC 25 Times Square, Manhattan NY. Simmba is a great combination of action and thriller. The movie depicts the unfortunate miseries of rape victims in India. To appease their lust, the powerful rapist people destroy the lives of innocent girls by raping them, and the justice system in India cannot punish the culprits. Simmba, a police officer, is the main character of the movie. Simmba joined the police force with intentions to make money. He would exploit people and work for interests of the elite. However, certain events in life compelled him to become a scrupulous police officer. For his sister, he fought against rapists and powerful wicked people. In India, the legal regime cannot counter the powerful and elite society because of inveterate corruption. Being aware of the power of rapists, Simmba believes that the only punishment that a rapist deserver is only murder. The movie portrays the bitter realities of Indian society and delivers a powerful social message. The first half of the movie is the most entertaining, and the second half of the movie is about the struggle of Simmba. There were multiple moments and scenes when the viewers expressed their joy with claps.

Rohit Shetty directed the movie, and he directed the movie fantastically. Ranveer Singh plays the role of Simmba. Ranveer’s superb acting kept the audience engaged in the movie. Sara Ali Khan, a vibrant beauty, also did a fantastic job. The movie is produced by Karan Johar, Rohit Shetty, and Apoorva Mehta. Some scenes from Simmba were loosely inspired by the Telugu-language film Temper (2015). I can recommend watching this movie. The movie itself has a great lesson about humanity. It shows how inveterate corruption, powerful elite, and unscrupulous police collude to exploit women. The movie carries entertainment with a great social message. Although the movie has a strong social message and all the actors performed very well, the storyline could have been improved to make the movie more appealing. Overall, Simmba is one among the few greatest stories that I have ever watched.
