DR. BISHNU MAYA PARIYAR AWARDED BY GLOBAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP

New York– Dr. Bishnu Maya Pariyar awarded by Global Youth Leadership 2019. Nepali social activist working in the USA Dr. Bishnu Maya Pariyar has been awarded by Global Youth Leadership Award. ‘The Global Youth Leadership Summit 2019 was organized by the Global Youth Parliament in Kathmandu. The honor was given by Former prime minister Jhalanath Khanal.
Dr. Bishnu Maya Pariyar is a founder and Chief Patron of ADWAN.ORG, a rights-based Nepali organization which has supported more than 14,900 children and more than 34,600 Dalit and marginalized women and their family members in Nepal since 1998. Dr. Pariyar serves as the Advisory Member of Diversity and Inclusion Board of Mayor of Jersey City, Steven M. Fulop who appointed her to make sure Jersey City’s minority community is not left behind while city strides for development in all sectors.
ADWAN: Association for Dalit Women Advancement of Nepal (ADWAN) is a human rights organization for Dalit (so called low-caste) women and children. It is a non-political, not profit making and non-government organization (NGO) legally registered at Kathmandu District Administration Office (D.A.O. Reg. No. 99/055/056) and is affiliated to Social Welfare Council. The organization was founded in 2055 B.S. (1998 A.D.) by a group of young and motivated Dalit women who had overcome immense obstacles of poverty, gender and caste discriminations and is run by them.
Its main objective is the empowerment of Dalit women and children. It is working in rural Nepal promoting solidarity for women across caste lines and empowering them through education, micro finance, human rights awareness and health trainings.
