WHY GO TO POWER?
प्रकाशित मिति : बैशाख २२, २०७७ सोमबार
After all, what is the country for those who want to hold the reins of power? Yesterday, it looked like a part of the division between the brothers. Seeing the controversy in power now, it seems that the reason is in the immense wealth, seen by everyone’s eyes. We, the people, can do nothing besides just watch.
Again, the question arises why go to power?
Is going to power just to amass wealth for three generations? Of course not, To get there, let’s study the glory, dignity, and duty of power and get to power. Politicians need to study and meditate on such things. To have a job is to make a living. But politics is much more than a means of livelihood. There is no problem in earning a living; people have chosen the path of politics because they are dedicated to change the country. But here politics has become like a lucrative profession.
Why did you come to power? Let the leaders lose themselves in solitude. And finally, let’s step into it, that is, let’s do real politics. Why do politics to forget the country and remember only yourself? Those who come to power should not be able to think that they are more significant than the people and the nation themselves. It should not be forgotten that the people are the breadwinners in power. Let’s not look at the limited circle (faction) as a country. Learning many things from successful people of yesterday and present, one should look at the past and dedicate oneself to the people. What kind of impression will be left on the future generation when they leave human life? That is his own thing.
It is clear that by doing good deeds, success will not be missed. For that, we should not shy away from using politics in our own country. But it should not be used in the shadow of anyone. While saying this, people keep asking questions. Why come to power? Is it to make your country beautiful, prosperous and stable, or to come to power only by becoming financially strong and living a life of majesty? After coming to power, one should become the right person, efficient ruler and administrator and do good deeds for the country.
It would not be good to have the image of Shakuni or the last African leader, Robert Mugabe, and others like him. He did not become as evil as Duryodhana, nor did he become as arrogant as Kaurav to destroy the dynasty. Or, by becoming like Dhritarashtra, will the country be able to survive due to filial piety? It is his idea to become a man who has been respected by generations for being a good, intelligent Vidura, Socrates, Plato, Chanakya, Prithvi Narayan Shah, and Mandela. In the footsteps of the sound principles of a good politician, one should become a competent person who can make a significant change in the country. And only going to power means otherwise the burden of the people and the nation. Judging by the pomp of some leaders, it seems that they are ready to carry the burden of the country and reach seven generations. Seeing those who have been sent to vote are also indigestible, the question is who they are for.
Let’s look at the past
Socrates’ foresight marked the beginning of Greek civilization. Became a beautiful country and became known as Greek civilization. Those who come to power need to read the past. By making thousands of such people the subject of their study, they can play a significant role in nation-building. The country is not glorious just by talking. People have stopped believing in empty talk. Man is a conscious being who imitates good things and changes them, including the descendants of the Eastern civilization. Why can’t we transform the development of such descendants in the country? Where are the countries that are suffering from nature now? We have to learn from the development of a country that is scared of snow and earthquakes and tsunamis. It is necessary to think about the use of science and technology. Where have they come from in development and prosperity?
There would have been a lot of the work that had been taken forward only by remembering the nation builder Prithvi Narayan Shah. Here, pride and hollow ideas are being imposed on the people by becoming more significant than the learners of the past. As a teacher, I have presented only the representative voice of the voices rising from Nepal among all those who came to power. The people have given a vote of confidence to those in power, but what are the people getting, now, or in the long run? After a while and listening to the news, you can’t find any answer except to stay in power and languish. Always be like that even natural development is being hampered.
This or that name has been curbed. Not only is it called Dev Bhoomi, but we always fight, quarrel, and fight in the real beautiful country of Nepal? Why do we never think of the development? Where are the neighbors? Collaborate with them or shake hands? We do not seem to be wise at all. We are not only retreating to get help, and we are working in the shadow of someone. Such chess pieces should not be for those who come to power. ‘nonsense’ thing should be avoided.
If necessary, it should be implemented with the advice of a competent, intellectual advisor like King Vikramaditya. Let’s not underestimate knowledge and study. Not only sound education, but his alertness and dedication too are most required. We should not forget why Janak’s kingdom is still praised today.
Power is not just a matter of doing good deeds. It is a matter of doing good for human beings, which is not available to anyone. Selfishness and positional gain and wearing flowers that cannot be covered by the neck do not make one a real ruler. No one should forget their promises and build the city of their dreams. It is necessary to do great deeds for the rights of the people and the development of the country. The power of the youth should be used for the development of this country. A country without youth is like a lost snake and a man without a spine; let’s think about that.
The monarchy was removed, and the number of kings increased
The purpose of removing the monarchy is certainly not to make the country more desolate than it was then. It is to make it more developed, beautiful, and respected in the world. However, the current situation has confused people. Is it to break the promise made to the people and the country to gain power? Or, as Karl Marx put it, “state power is to be used by one class as an instrument to oppress another.” Or to live a life of profit only with a few rulers and their henchmen. Corruption is rampant at this time. Seeing the pomp of little kings on the streets, it seems that the country has reached beyond America. But the people have become hollow. Leaders have squeezed the people by imposing taxes on them.
Listening to the words of the parliamentarians and the people who have reached the leadership, the situation has come to know what an ignorant and illiterate country it is. There is more to gossip than logic. Education is being crippled. After all, leaders who have just finished school are wondering why they need a Ph.D. Probably a factor as to why they’re doing so poorly. Hull practices have been promoted by sidelining competition. The post-monarchy kings are doing the work of exhausting this country, which has never been under anyone’s rule. It seems that leaders are becoming someone’s pawns when they see and hear the leaders. Why are powerful armies like sons-in-law? The question is why the armies that bring development and prosperity to foreign countries and establish peace are secondary in their own country. Nepalis who have studied here have become competitive in the world, but they have also been axed.
Now what?
Even those in power in the north do not know where the country is. The country has moved forward aimlessly. Is it difficult to answer the question now? Lately, Nepalis have lost everything. We are not even trying to win. The two hands that have united the people have faded as soon as they came to power. It has also been discussed as leadership being ungrateful to the people. Those who lived in yesterday’s huts have been brought to the palace by politics. Looking for a reason, it seems that we, the people, are in a dilemma, or we belong to the straight class that is confused by the leadership. The work that should have been done naturally in the country has stopped. (Except electricity and now roads) Every sector is moving away from easy access to the people.
There is a lot of middlemen in the country. It is necessary to tighten the policy, rules, and laws in the sales sector. It is necessary to close the loopholes in the law. The country seems to be run by intermediaries who arrange the setting of businessmen and leaders. It is necessary to come to power by the mind, word, and deed by representing the kind and candid, intellectual class. If everyone works honestly in their field, the country will be built automatically. No one has to make it. It becomes clear even when we reach Malla Kal. Why is a development called the golden age? Minor misunderstandings and personal arrogance should not be seen in running the state. After the catastrophic earthquake on 12 April 2072, there was a kind of cooperation within the country, which gave the constitution. That kind of collaboration is now forgotten by the leadership as if it had forgotten the earthquake. And they set out to empty the country in the old style. Nepali leaders have also decided not to decide their strategy and have cried, saying that it has become a foreign land.
Whether it was Stalin’s revolution in the late 1920s or Mao’s revolution in China, Mao set up the concept of people’s war and declared the village to be under siege. By using the same name and learning, the country has been taken to hell. Development and the investment-friendly environment has not been created in the country. Government work cannot be done without intermediaries. Claiming to be a democrat does not make democracy meaningful. Karma accordingly is necessary. With the whole country at the center and the drought of credible leaders looming in the coming days, there is no alternative to the Prime Minister coming forward with a new promise to do something after recovery. He will have to give energetic leadership to the country with young enthusiasm. The increase in social indiscipline in the country and the disappearance of the fear of the prevailing laws and regulations among the people is the failure of the leadership! The government needs to move forward with that in mind.
