Sajha Party Nepal has expressed its serious concerns about the ‘placement of Nepal’s territory, Kalapani, Lipulekh Pass and Limpiyadhura within India’s territory’.

“Indian government’s this move has intervened in Nepal’s sovereignty and territorial integrity against the international law,” read a statement issued on Wednesday by Sajha Party Nepal’s Spokesperson Dr Surya Raj Acharya.

Stating that the party has been protesting border encroachment with Nepal by India in dozens areas, the statement reads, the party wants to clarify that Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura are Nepal’s territory, and it urges Indian government to make corrections in its new map claiming the places.

The party also underscored the need for Nepal’s government and all political parties to stand together on such serious issues as country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Likewise, Rastriya Prajatantra Party (United) has drawn the attention of the government to the issue, asking it to take up the issue with India.

In a statement issued by RPP (United)’s chair Dr Prakash Chandra Lohani, he urged the government to take necessary steps as the territory, Kalapani and Lipulekh claimed by India in its new map belongs to the Nepali people living there as they have landownership certificates of the areas. RPP (United)’s official view is India should make correction in its new map, reads the statement.
